Ignacia J Heyer is a single mother and entrepreneur who is driven by her passion for helping others and achieving her goals. She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and relocated to Puerto Rico in 1980 to live with her mother, brothers, and sisters. After high School, she immigrated to the United State, attending Northern Essex Community College, where she studied Electronic Technology and English. While in college, Ignacia had to work 12 hour shifts to make ends meet while going to school. When she became pregnant with her daughter, she put her career and education on hold. She eventually went back to school earning an Associate of Arts in 2013 from University of Phoenix.
That same year, Ignacia became a foster parent and accepted a part-time job for Keefe Commissary. All her life, she has been hounded by assumptions and gossip, but she has always ignored this negativity, focusing on her job, her role as a foster parent, and her daughter. She considers her daughter, who earned her Master’s Degree from UMass Boston, to be her greatest accomplishment in life.
Ignacia identifies with her favor poem “Barbie Doll” by Marge Piercy. This poem was published in 1971, it brakes her heart to see that 41 years later women are still victim of the unrealistic beauty expectations. Society wants to change women for them to be accepted. Her favor quote was taken from a religious book “One who overcomes others has physical might; One who overcomes the self is strong.”
Ignacia taste on music varies from Classic music to Rap music depending on her mood. She has a love for music and enjoys all genres.
Currently, Ignacia is teaching herself how to code and has her heart set on launching her own business. When she is not busy in her office, she enjoys reading, watching TV, and working out at the gym.

Ignacia resides in Lawrence, Massachusetts since 1984.
